Princess Yachts Apprenticeships

Our Marine Engineering Apprenticeships are all about designing, building and manufacturing our boats. As an Engineering apprentice you will learn a broad range of engineering skills and disciplines including mechanical, electrical and marine. The apprenticeship leads to a level 3 qualification and you will have the opportunity to develop skills in:

- Marine Engineering
- Mechanical and Electrical Systems
- System Installations
- Boat Testing and Commissioning 

Our Carpentry/Boat Builder Apprenticeships are all about working on the designs and function of our luxury yachts. As an apprentice you will learn skills such as building the internal structure and fit out which include plumbing, outfitting and deck fitting. The apprenticeship leads to a level 3 qualification and you will have the opportunity to develop skills in:

- Boat outfitting
- GRP Bonding
- Deck Fitting
- Wood Finishing

Our Carpentry/Bench Joinery Apprenticeships are all about producing the luxury furniture's and fixtures installed on our luxury yachts. As an apprentice you will learn skills such as building and manufacturing luxury furniture, understanding technical drawings and bench joinery. The apprenticeship leads to a level 3 qualification and you will have the opportunity to develop skills in:

- Bench Joinery
- Machine Shop
- Paint Shop
- Wood Finishing

When available, our Composites Apprenticeships provide the skills and knowledge of applying Gel, Resins, Catalysts, and Mat materials to form Glass Reinforced Structures which form the decks, hulls, canopies and many other structures of the boats. The apprenticeship leads to a level 3 qualification and you will have the opportunity to develop skills in:

- Composite Structural Bonding
- GRP Repairs
- Lamination
- Assembly

Our Level 3 Fabrication and Welding Apprenticeships provide the skills and knowledge within a range of specialties such as sheet metal, plate fabrication and welding plus structural steelwork. You will develop your skills in:

- CNC – laser
- Break press (DNC)
- Welding and fabrication of stainless-steel and aluminium
- Hydraulic tube bending
- Super marine polishing, manual and electronic

Subject to availability, our Development Apprenticeships give you the opportunity to work in 2D and 3D design. You will develop your skills through a variety of modules including:

- Understanding technical drawings, creating and using patterns, woodworking skills, laminating skills, understanding datums, templating, etc.
- Fit out techniques- engineering and carpentry
- Computer Aided Design 

Subject to availability, we offer Level 3 apprenticeships in Business Administration which are 2-year apprenticeships within one of our business teams across Princess. You will rotate around many of our departments providing you with skills, knowledge and experience in a vast range of Business Admin roles. Depending on the role you could complete units such as:

- Data handling and administration
- Receptionist support 
- Principles of business administration
- HR, Payroll, Recruitment, Marketing, Sales, Procurement experience
- Communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Project management and much more.

Subject to availability, we offer Level 2/3 apprenticeships in Accounting and Finance Administration. Depending on previous experience the course may start with an entry Level 2 apprenticeship which leads onto a Level 3 apprenticeship following successful completion. The apprenticeship will be 2-3 years long working within our Finance teams across Princess. You will complete units such as:

- Understanding business needs
- Examine and manage financial and accounting data 
- Transaction data handling
- Communicating with internal and external stakeholders
- Use digital systems to ensure cyber security and much more
