Job Title: Quality Improvement Engineers Reports to: Quality Systems Manager Hours of Work: 39hrs per week, Mon – Thurs 7.30am – 4.30pm, Fri 7.30am – 12.30pm
Main Purpose of Role
Support production management to achieve the level of quality that is required to meet customer expectations. Provide a quick response to resolving quality issues identified during build. Conduct stage process audits ensuring conformance to company processes and procedures. Provide a framework that promotes Continual Improvement and RFT methodology.
Support the management on boat lines through Fit-Out gate process auditing to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the Quality Management System (QMS) at each stage.
Analyse data gathered from process audits to identify areas of Risk and promote RFT in those areas. Encourage crew members to adopt the RFT approach and verify that the correct information at source is provided e.g. Work Instructions, Drawings and documented information.
Enter data into the Quality Management System to provide accurate KPI data. Identify areas that may require an additional focus.
Provide verification of accurate data for Quality Issues identified. Initiate actions to aid quick resolution and assistance in identifying root causes from quality issues and repeat issues and the implementation of changes to prevent reoccurrence.
Ensure that non-conformances and repeat issues are communicated to the appropriate persons.
Assist the Quality Systems Manager with continual improvement activities to enhance the Quality Management System.
Continuously improve inspection processes and procedures.
Analyse reported faults and failures to comply with PYI Work instructions and feedback any recommendations for change to the Quality Systems Manager.
Act as internal department quality interface. Providing information and support to Supply factories, Fit-Out, OSC and the rest of the business as required in the promotion of RFT.
Act as an Ambassador for Princess Yachts, operating with integrity and drive appropriate to the Company’s values, to promote Princess as a market leader.

A sound knowledge of manufacturing/operational processes allied to the company’s product
Experience of engineering and assembly practices
Relevant / suitable qualifications both administrative and technical (Excel, Word etc)
Able to read and interpret technical drawings
Conscientious, reliable and dedicated
Able to work under own initiative
City and Guilds 743 Quality Assurance or equivalent
Qualified Internal Auditor an advantage
Knowledge of Lean Techniques an advantage
Knowledge of the requirements of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems an advantage
