Job Title: CADesigner
Reports to: CAD Manager
Hours of Work: 39hrs per week, Mon – Thurs 7.30am – 4.30pm, Fri 7.30am – 12.30pm

To produce accurate Model & Drawing data so that internal & external supply chains can manufacture parts that will be fundamental to the assembly of craft and using the most cost effective and safe manner benefiting the production and assembly of parts

Main Purpose of Role 

  • Reporting to the Development CAD Manager and Lead CAD you will work amongst a team of other CAD designers on new product development
  • Main role will be to convert 2D & 3D design concepts into detailed models & production drawing information

Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Create detail designs of interior boat component in context of the complete boat assembly
  • Work to Lead CAD instructions and guidance
  • Liaise with design, engineering, compliance and production teams to identify and overcome design problems
  • Create detail designs that are fit for purpose. Ensure that they meet design & manufacturing procedures & standards
  • Manage your time, work to delivery dates that you participate in creating with your manager
  • Report your progress to management
  • Ensure new parts confirm to design standards
  • Try and use the re use process to aid on time delivery
  • Acting as an Ambassador for Princess Yachts, operating with integrity and drive appropriate to the Company’s values, to promote Princess as a market leader

Strategic Interface

Interface with all areas of the business including assembly, supply chain, engineering, external suppliers & their support agents

Person Specification

  • Ideally knowledge of Siemens NX (NX10 is preferable) and Teamcenter is required
  • Able to visualise product build and deal with large assemblies
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good team working skills and a drive to progress within the department
  • A general knowledge of joinery and engineering is desirable
  • MS Office conversant is preferred
