Job Title: CAD Manager
Reports to: Develoment Operations Manager
Hours of Work: Mon – Thurs 7.30am – 4.30pm, Fri – 7.30am – 12.30pm

Resource Responsibilities

  • Operating Headcount – approx 15-30 CADesigners
  • Manage CAD team output in line with new product development schedule (Devsumm)
  • Ensure all employees adhere to all aspects of Health, Safety & Secruity
  • Ambassador for Princess Yachts and promoting PYI as a market leader

Main Purpose of Role

Reporting to the Development Operations Manager produce and maintain a detail plan outlining the delivery of info for the new products outlined in the development program and ensure the CAD team produce information in a timely manner for internal customers & external suppliers , so that they can manufacture components to a high standard, in time for production assembly.

Produce information so that production can manaufacture cost effectively.

Produce and maintain relevant KPI’s for development department.

Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Understand and prioritise information requirement/delivery for all disciplines (Kitparts/Small Moulds/Metal shop) based on build plans or LTO’s so that info delivery is understood
  • Understand & review info status and manage scope to be delivered
  • To help resolve and solve team members problems and ensure they are able to achieve deliverables.
  • Review Project Trackers and guage against Devsumm project schdule
  • Clear objectives to lead CAD team – produce worklists outling resource allocation and clear deliverables for areas with in a project
  • Review resource loading for CAD
  • Review Chess data/run DEV25 reports and monitor delivery of Internal information to feeder factories and report to the DEV34 meeting
  • Support Senior CADesigners and manage CAD HR holidays, sickness
  • Support all areas technically with innovation and ideas
  • Support production of monthly EXCO data sheet
  • Ensure Quality audits against design standards are actioned as required
  • Drives efficiency and effectiveness to deliver against key objectives
  • Acting as an Ambassador for Princess Yachts, operating with integrity and drive appropriate to the Company’s values, to promote Princess as a market leader.

Interface with all areas of the business including assembly, supply chain, engineering, external suppliers & their support agents

Person Specification

  • Strong communication skills
  • Good team building skills and a drive to progress within the operation
  • Competent in basic use of Siemens Teamcenter PLM software
  • Understanding 3D CAD models
  • Excellent knowledge of development processes & timescales
  • Good problem solving skills.
  • Computer literate (excel, word, power point & Project)
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Basic Chess software data input operations.
  • Written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Higher education qualification
  • Management experience.
  • Ability to work to challenging time scales
