Princess Yachts are currently recruiting for a Design Consultant to work in London.

This is a rare opportunity to join a major regional company in a high profile and key position within the business.

REPORTS TO: Design Studio Manager


GRADING: Salary/Maternity Cover


Working hours: Monday – Friday 08:30 am - 17:00pm

Contract: Fixed term for 14 months

Work in conjunction with the team to offer a client-facing service to the Princess distributor network and their customers.



  • Responsibility for all styling elements inclusive of soft furnishings, furniture, decorative lighting and key finishes for each project.
  • Provide key support to the Princess distributor network with enquiries, re-specifications, presentations, sampling, general advice and assistance with all aspects listed above for all boats in the range. A full specification is offered at a chargeable daily fee for all boats under 70ft.
  • Assist Princess Motor Yacht Sales with colour schemes for all boats in build, providing design presentations, sampling and costing, charged at an agreed, fixed design fee.
  • Support studio team with general day to day tasks. Hosting suppliers, updating sample library, completion of client presentations and sourcing new suppliers and products.
  • Support Creative Development team with new boat launch specifications and general support
  • Shadow all members of the team ongiong to gain an understanding of the role and the direction for look and feel of PYL style and during client meetings to offer support, aiding a seamless service and gaining a well-rounded understanding of the design brief/ specification process from a client/ dealer facing perspective.
  • Update studio documents in accordance with development changes (line-out updates etc).
  • Assistance with client sampling packs and dispatch.
  • Assistance with production of design scheme sample boards.
  • Support with collating colour scheme costing documents and any required client-facing furniture presentations on release of new boat models.
  • Provide support to stylist with boats dressing at key boat shows throughout the year.
  • Product and market awareness and responsibility for sourcing new materials, trends and styling to complement the look of a Princess Yacht interior and ensure we remain a market leader in design.

  • A good understanding of the interior design market and products
  • Essential communication skills required for client interface
  • Knowledge of CAD and Photoshop beneficial but not essential
  • Knowledge of InDesign essential
  • Experience in styling beneficial
  • Able to convey info & ideas clearly

If you are not successful in your application to us, your personal information will usually be retained for the period of the recruitment exercise and then after for 6 months. It is then destroyed unless its retention is required to satisfy audit, legal, regulatory or accounting requirements or to protect our interests. We will not sell, trade, rent or pass on your personal information to any organisation other than those involved in the recruitment, selection and employment process, or use this information ourselves for any purpose other than those stated here without your consent.
